Smith's up to summit

Alan Smith wants talks with Sir Alex Ferguson this week before deciding whether to quit Manchester United.
The England striker is due to return to training, but Middlesbrough and Everton head the queue of clubs interested in taking him if United sell.
However, Smith will not leave Old Trafford until he is sure his first-team chances are remote – and he plans to discuss his future with Ferguson to find out the answers.

FIFA to rule on Tevez transfer
 
The future of United target Carlos Tevez lies with FIFA as world football’s governing body will decide a resolution to the ongoing saga surrounding the Argentina striker’s transfer from West Ham.

At a press conference in Seoul, the second leg of United’s tour of the Far East, Reds chief executive David Gill said he is confident that Tevez will “get his wish to join United”.

"There have been a lot of discussion with the Premier League, West Ham and Maurice Watkins over the last few days," Gill told reporters.

New boys play waiting game
 
Owen Hargreaves and Nani will both have to wait a little longer for their United debuts after Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the pair are struggling to be fit for the Reds' second Asia tour match in Seoul.

Hargreaves has a knee problem, while Nani is still suffering the affects of an ankle injury picked up during the European U21 Championships last month.

Nevertheless, Sir Alex is confident the duo will be available for Monday's match against Shenzhen FC in Macau.
